Out West, Small Businesses Are Building Bigger with GOP Tax Cuts

WASHINGTON— House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) is highlighting how small businesses across the West are investing, hiring, and expanding thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts, as part of National Small Business Week.

“Out West, small businesses do not sit still. They build, and they keep their communities moving,” Chairwoman McClain said. “The Working Families Tax Cuts gave them the certainty to do exactly that. Instead of holding back, they are upgrading equipment, investing in their employees, and planning for the long term. That is what pro-growth policy looks like in the real world. Despite every Democrat opposing it, small businesses are turning that relief into results.”

“As Chairman of the House Small Business Committee, it is an honor to celebrate National Small Business Week and the entrepreneurs who power our economy," Chairman Roger Williams said. "Under President Trump, we have delivered real results for Main Street — from the Working Families Tax Cuts that put permanent money back in the pockets of hard-working Americans, to an economy where small businesses are hiring, growing, and thriving. On Committee, we celebrate our hard-working job creators every day and will continue to put forth pro-business, pro-growth legislation to help Main Street thrive."

Small business owners across the Western United States shared how they are already benefiting from the tax cuts.

Austin Robinson, Click Bond Manufacturing — Nevada

“The 2017 tax reform was tremendously impactful for both our business and our workers. It allowed us to increase wages, scale up our engineering and development workforce, invest in next-generation equipment, and create a new employee academic assistance program. By making permanent a pro-growth tax code, the One Big Beautiful Bill will empower us to continue and expand these investments, to purchase more equipment and conduct more research, and to further increase pay and benefits for our employees.”

Bill Lloyd, Great West Engineering — Montana, Idaho, and Washington

“I'd like to extend my appreciation to Congress for passing the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and fixing the R&D amortization issue that's been hampering growth in the engineering world for the past 3 years. Now that we are able to focus on the future again with a stable tax structure, consistent tax structure, we're investing in developing our staff’s professional development and improving their skill set. We're investing in better compensation for our employees, raising their wages, and improving their benefits. It allowed us to plan. Having a consistent tax structure and knowing what we're dealing with from year to year allows us to better invest our resources.”

Beth Booth, Spaces Renewed — California

“We’re so grateful that the One Big, Beautiful Bill passed, and the tax deduction for small business has been really important to us this year, as we are still struggling from many years of rampant inflation, taxation, regulatory burden, and the price of energy. Those four years that we had really wiped out a lot of savings, a lot of prospects, it kind of wiped out our business pipeline also. So having this deduction has really helped save us this year.”

Will Fulton, Robinson Helicopter — California

“The One Big Beautiful Bill Act supports us by driving our ability to accelerate domestic investment expansion and growth. This legislation helps accelerate our ambitions into a more near-term reality. Thanks to your leadership, Congress and the administration have empowered Robinson Helicopter to create jobs, invest in equipment, innovate through R&D and drive economic growth faster.”

Nicole, Ennis Auto Parts — Montana

“Thanks to the permanent 20% Small Business Deduction, I gave pay raises and more local contributions to school groups and local nonprofits like the Lions Club.”

Jared Kredit, K2 Electric — Arizona

Jared said the Working Families Tax Cuts have helped restore cash flow after the burden of R&D amortization, allowing his business to move back into growth mode instead of holding flat to manage costs. He also said the No Tax on Overtime provision has made it easier to staff large-scale projects, as employees are more willing to work additional hours knowing they will keep more of their earnings.
