The Border Crisis Is One Big Joke To Kamala

Today, Vice President Kamala Harris laughed during an interview with NBC News' Lester Holt when he confronted her about not visiting the U.S.-Mexico border, which is facing the largest number of illegal border crossings in over a decade. TRANSCRIPT:  LESTER HOLT: Do you have any plans to visit the border? HARRIS: At some point. You know, I — we are going to the border. We've been to the border. So this whole — this whole thing about the border, we've been to the border. We've been to the border. HOLT: You haven't been to the border. HARRIS: And I haven't been to Europe. (Laughs) I mean, I don't understand the point that you're making. I'm not discounting the importance of the border. It has been 76 days since President Biden tasked Harris with overseeing the crisis happening along the United States' southern border. Yet, not only has Harris failed to schedule a trip to the southern border, she has now traveled to Guatemala and Mexico without stopping to see the crisis she is "managing" firsthand.  Harris' tone death comments follow reports that the number of migrants illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border this fiscal year is already the most since 2006 — with four months left to go, according to preliminary Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data.  BY THE NUMBERS:
  • The Border Patrol stopped nearly 900,000 migrants from Oct. 1 to May 31.
  • May is the 3rd straight month of 170K+ apprehensions, which hasn’t occurred since 2000
  • Authorities are on pace to apprehend 1.35 million illegal immigrants this fiscal year, the most since 2000.
