Today, House Republicans will bring to the floor H.Res. 1371 which condemns Joe Biden’s open borders czar Kamala Harris for failing to secure our Northern and Southern Borders. While Far Left Democrats and their loyal stenographers in the mainstream media have spent much of the week attempting to distance Harris from her role as Biden’s border czar, House Republicans and the American people know the truth. Kamala Harris is Biden’s open border czar. 
 
For the last three and half years, the Biden-Harris Administration’s failed Far Left Democrat open border policies have resulted in turning every community into a border community, jeopardizing the safety and security of every American as terrorists, violent criminals, and illicit drugs pour across Biden’s open border and into our communities. 
 
MAKE NO MISTAKE: The number one issue facing Americans is the Biden-Harris border crisis. By every metric, Harris has failed as Biden’s “border czar” electing to advance Far Left Democrats' failed open border policies and the needs of illegals over the safety of American citizens. The American people have had enough, and House Republicans know that the only way to fix this historic crisis is by returning to President Trump’s border security policies, which gave us the securest border in modern history. 
 
THE BIDEN-HARRIS’ BORDER CRISIS BY THE NUMBERS:

• Since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office:
  • There have been OVER 9.9 MILLION illegal immigrant encounters nationwide. 
  • There have been OVER 8.1 MILLION illegal immigrant encounters at our Southern Border.
  • There have been roughly 2 million known gotaways who evaded U.S. Border Patrol.  
  • The Biden-Harris Administration has failed to remove 99.7% of the illegal immigrants released into the United States.
  • There have been more known gotaways than in the previous decade combined. 
• In June, there were 130,419 illegal immigrant encounters at our Southern Border.  
  • This is roughly 4,300 daily encounters, which is four times more than the definition of a "crisis" set by Obama's DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson who said in 2019 that "more than 1,000" encounters a day "overwhelm the system.
• Since Harris became Biden's “border czar,”
  • Monthly encounters have surpassed even the highest month under President Donald J. Trump. 
  • The number of illegals released into the country has skyrocketed.
  • Harris has still only visited our Southern Border once since becoming “border czar.”
  • Harris has not spoken with Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens since he was appointed in July 2023. 
• Under Biden-Harris, over 350 of these individuals whose names appear on the terrorist watchlist were stopped trying to cross the Southern Border.
  • So far in FY24, there have been 93 individuals whose names appear on the terrorist watchlist who were stopped trying to enter the U.S. illegally between ports of entry at the Southern Border.
  • In June, NBC News reported that over 50 illegal immigrants with ties to ISIS were on the loose in our nation after having been released by the Biden Administration. 
• So far in FY24, there have been a record-breaking 31,077 Communist Chinese nationals encountered at the Southwest border.
