Thanksgiving 2021 is expected to be the most expensive meal in the history of the holiday. The reason why? President Biden’s supply chain and economic crisis.
The New York Times reported:
“Nearly every component of the traditional American Thanksgiving dinner, from the disposable aluminum turkey roasting pan to the coffee and pie, will cost more this year, according to agricultural economists, farmers and grocery executives. Major food companies like Nestlé and Procter & Gamble have already warned consumers to brace for more price increases.”
MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski highlighted the supply chain crisis, labor shortages, and inflation as contributing to higher prices for Thanksgiving on Tuesday.
“The grocery store right now, I mean everything is up…this is different than even a few months ago,” Brzezinski noted about the skyrocketing cost of groceries.
BIDEN’S ECONOMIC CRISIS BY THE NUMBERS:
- Whole frozen turkeys between eight and 16 pounds already cost 25 cents a pound more than they did a year ago.
- Inflation is taxation, and it has gone up every month of Joe Biden’s presidency.
- For households earning the US median annual income of about $70,000, the current inflation rate has forced them to spend another $175 a month on food, fuel, and housing.
- Americans are paying more for just about everything while making less because of the skyrocketing inflation:
- Bacon and related products are UP 19.3%
- Pork is UP 12.7%
- Meats are UP 12.6%
- Eggs are UP 12.6%
- Fresh and frozen chicken parts are UP 8.1%
- In September, the U.S. economy added just 194,000 compared to the 500,000 economists expected.
- This was the worst jobs report of Joe Biden’s presidency.
- Shelves across the country are bare because of workforce shortages that have left a record number of container ships waiting to enter ports.
BOTTOM LINE: Instead of addressing the root cause of the crises impacting Thanksgiving, President Biden and House Democrats are pushing their tax and spend package totaling over $5 trillion. This Far-Left Socialist wish list will only add fuel to America’s skyrocketing inflation and worsen the economic crisis facing Americans.
