Accountability Is Here

For the past year, House Republicans have followed the facts and the money, building a record of evidence revealing how Joe Biden knew, was involved, and benefited from his family’s corrupt influence peddling schemes.
That is why today, the House will vote to take the next critical step by formalizing our impeachment inquiry into President Biden. H. Res. 918 will direct the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, House Judiciary Committee, and House Ways and Means Committee to continue their ongoing investigations as part of the existing House of Representatives inquiry into whether sufficient grounds exist for the House of Representatives to exercise its Constitutional power to impeach President Biden. This resolution sets forth specific procedures regarding the impeachment inquiry, formalizes the impeachment inquiry helping to remove legal ambiguity, and ensures the American people will receive the answers they deserve.
  • The House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry has already shown the corrupt conduct of the President’s family, and that Joe Biden and White House officials have repeatedly lied about Joe Biden’s knowledge and involvement in his family’s business activities.
  • House Republicans have sent subpoenas and transcribed interview requests to over 20 people related to the Biden impeachment inquiry.
  • In December, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability released information about Hunter Biden’s business entity, Owasco PC, which received payments from Communist China, on at least three occasions made direct monthly payments to Joe Biden in 2018.
  • In November, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability released bank records showing that Joe Biden received $240,000 in direct payments from his family members, who were making this money through their corrupt influence peddling schemes.
    • This included $40,000 in laundered money from Communist China, in the form of a personal check from the account of his brother, James Biden, and his sister-in-law, Sara Biden.
  • Republicans on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee have also uncovered tens of millions of dollars from foreign adversaries funneled to the Biden family through corrupt influence peddling schemes.
  • In November, Special Counsel David Weiss admitted to the House Judiciary Committee that he "wasn’t granted" special attorney authority in his Hunter Biden investigation by the Justice Department despite requesting that status.
  • In July, Hunter Biden’s longtime business partner Devon Archer testified that on approximately 20 occasions Joe Biden called in or was put on speakerphone during Hunter’s business meetings.
    • House Republicans have uncovered at least 20 examples of President Biden, his 2020 campaign staff, and top White House aides lying to the American public by claiming that Biden "never discussed" his son Hunter’s business dealings with him.
  • In June, Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee released 14 hours of transcribed interviews with two IRS whistleblowers, which show that President Biden not only knew about Hunter Biden’s corrupt foreign business deals but was also in the room for them.
