Good morning, and welcome back! 

Let me start with this. House Republicans will not allow Democrats’ distractions and obstructions to stop us from doing the work the American people sent us here to do.
The Democratic shutdown never stopped us.

The countless witch hunts against President Trump never stopped us. And the latest discharge petition, which is just another Democrat distraction, won’t stop us either. 

Because the American people expect us to do our jobs—not to distract and obstruct. 
For more than 40 days, Democrats inflicted needless pain on hardworking Americans. And for what? …To use the American people’s pain as political leverage. Leverage for a $1.5 trillion wish list that American families simply can’t afford.

But Democrats didn’t get a single one of their demands. Because House Republicans stayed unified. And now, we’re taking that momentum into the fights that matter most to the American people. 

This week, House Republicans will pass commonsense bills to make energy more affordable. 

Bills that will lower energy costs for hardworking families. Bills that build on the work we achieved to unleash American energy in the Working Families Tax Cuts. Bills that increase energy production, cut red tape, and drive down prices for every American. 

And what will Democrats do? They will almost certainly vote no. Why? Because their radical base demands it.


Republicans will always fight to make energy more affordable for the American people. 

While Democrats prioritize the wishes of their radical base. 

So, we will keep moving forward. Forward with our agenda that lowers costs. Forward with solutions that make America more affordable. And forward with the momentum the American people entrusted us with. 

Because House Republicans aren’t here to play political games—to obstruct and distract.

We’re here to deliver lower costs. We’re here to drive down energy prices. 

And we’re here to make America more affordable.
