Attorney General Merrick Garland is attempting to cover up the Biden family’s corruption by naming U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who already sought to give Hunter Biden a sweetheart plea deal, as special counsel.
The House Oversight Committee has exposed mounting evidence of President Joe Biden’s role in his family’s schemes selling him as “the brand” for millions of dollars to foreign nationals, including corrupt oligarchs and Chinese Communist Party linked individuals.
Now the Department of Justice is attempting a Biden family cover up by giving special counsel status to U.S. Attorney Weiss who oversaw a politicized investigation. Attorney General Garland originally said U.S Attorney Weiss had the authority to prosecute. If Weiss originally had the authorities needed, then why does he need special counsel status now?
Two IRS whistleblowers who investigated Hunter Biden’s evasion of taxes on his $8.3 million in income have exposed politicization and misconduct in the Biden criminal investigation.
Testimony reveals that DOJ engaged in a “Delay, Divulge, and Deny” campaign: Officials delayed the investigation to allow the clock to run out to prevent charging Hunter Biden with felonies; they divulged sensitive information about the investigation to Hunter Biden’s attorneys; and they denied investigators the ability to follow evidence that implicated Joe Biden.
U.S. Attorney Weiss oversaw the politicized investigation that attempted to place Hunter Biden on the path to a sweetheart plea deal before a judge later refused to rubberstamp it.
This action by Biden’s Justice Department cannot be used to obstruct congressional investigations or whitewash the Biden family corruption.
The Biden Justice Department is trying to stonewall congressional oversight as House Republicans have presented evidence to the American people about the Biden family’s corruption.
The Justice Department cannot shield anyone from House Republicans’ investigations into the Biden family’s corruption and the Justice Department’s cover up. We expect all witnesses, documents, communications, and records requested to be provided.
The House Oversight Committee will continue to follow the Biden family’s money trail and interview witnesses to determine whether foreign actors sought out the Bidens, President Biden is compromised and corrupt, and our national security is threatened.
The House Committees on Judiciary, Oversight, and Ways and Means will also continue to investigate misconduct at the Justice Department and the IRS and hold bad actors accountable for weaponizing law enforcement powers.
MAKE NO MISTAKE: David Weiss CANNOT be trusted to conduct a fair and thorough investigation into Hunter Biden.
