More Than 1.2 Million Illegal Immigrants Have Evaded Apprehension At Our Southern Border Under Joe Biden’s Watch

  • More Than 1.2 Million Illegal Immigrants Have Evaded Apprehension At Our Southern Border Under Joe Biden’s Watch

According to Border Patrol sources, more than 1.2 MILLION illegal immigrants have evaded apprehension at our southern border in the chaos of Joe Biden’s border crisis. Unfortunately, there is no telling how many more were not known to authorities.

This damning report follows the release of the December 2022 Monthly Operational Report by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), which contained the highest monthly total of illegal encounters at our southern border in CBP history.

BIDEN’S BORDER CRISIS BY THE NUMBERS:

  • Since Joe Biden took office, there have been OVER 4.7 MILLION illegal crossings of our southern border.
  • According to recent CBP data, there were 251,487 migrant encounters at our southern border in December 2022.
    • December was the worst month on CBP’s 22-year record for monthly crossings and the tenth consecutive month that our southern border had more than 200,000 illegal crossings.
    • This is more than a 500% increase in crossings since 2020.
    • 64% of these encounters were single adults.
    • 20% of these encounters were expelled using Title 42.
  • Fentanyl seizures by CBP increased more than 50% from November 2022 to December 2022.
  • 38 illegal immigrants on the Terrorist Screening Database have been apprehended attempting to cross our southern border since the beginning of Fiscal Year 2023 in October 2022.
    • 17 of these encounters were in December alone.
  • For the second historic month in a row, there were more than 70,000 known “gotaways” at the southern border in December.
  • Since Joe Biden took office, more than 1.2 MILLION illegal immigrants have evaded apprehension at our southern border, according to Border Patrol sources.

MAKE NO MISTAKE: Joe Biden’s historic border crisis is only getting worse under this administration’s failing open-border policies, but accountability is here. House Republicans have already hit the ground running on conducting crucial Congressional oversight—and we will not stop until we get full transparency for the American people.
