When marking the 50th anniversary of the now-overturned Roe v. Wade U.S. Supreme Court Decision on Sunday, Vice President Kamala Harris omitted the right to “Life” when quoting the Declaration of Independence in a pro-abortion speech.

In her remarks in Florida, Vice President Harris said:

“We collectively believe and know, America is a promise…It is a promise of freedom and liberty…Not just some, but for all. A promise we made in the Declaration of Independence, that we are each endowed with the right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Be clear, these rights were not bestowed upon us, they belong to us as Americans.”

THE FACTS ON DEMOCRATS’ RADICAL AGENDA:

  • According to the Charlotte Lozier Institute, hundreds of babies have been born following failed abortion procedures, and less than half of states have sufficient protections for them.
  • The U.S. is one of a small handful of nations, including China and North Korea, that allows late-term abortion on demand up to the moment of birth.
  • The American people overwhelmingly believe babies who are born alive should be protected.
  • According to a Harvard/Harris poll, over 70% of voters prefer to limit abortion to 15 weeks.
  • 70% of voters oppose abortion without restrictions, according to a national poll.
  • 58% of Americans hold strong opposition to Congressional Democrats and the Biden administration’s support of taxpayer-funded abortions, according to a Marist/Knights of Columbus poll.
  • There have now been nearly 80 recorded acts of violence and intimidation against pro-life individuals and organizations by radical pro-abortion activists since the initial leak of the draft Supreme Court Dobbs opinion.
    • Since 2016, crisis pregnancy centers have saved more than 800,000 lives.
  • Over 70% of voters approve of crisis pregnancy centers.

MAKE NO MISTAKE: Our Founding Fathers have enshrined in the Declaration of Independence Americans’ most fundamental right to LIFE. Following two years of Democrat one-party rule in Washington, House Republicans are now providing a much needed check on the Biden administration’s radical abortion-on-demand agenda, including passing the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. The American people now have a House majority that stands for LIFE.
