House Republicans Pass Budget Resolution to Restore Fiscal Discipline and Protect National Security

WASHINGTON— House Republicans passed S. Con. Res. 33, the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Resolution. The resolution restores budget discipline and takes the next steps to fund the Department of Homeland Security.

House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) released the following statement:

“House Republicans are putting an end to the chaos and getting Washington back on a budget,” Chairwoman McClain said. “Democrats spent years blowing through taxpayer dollars and playing games with the paychecks of the men and women protecting this country. That is unacceptable. Republicans are restoring discipline and proving you can govern responsibly without putting politics ahead of national security.”

The resolution sets budget levels for fiscal year 2026 and outlines a path for spending, revenue, and debt through 2035. It also takes steps to ensure continued pay for frontline homeland security personnel after Democrats voted to suppress their paychecks 8 times.
