WASHINGTON—House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-MI) marked President Trump’s first year back in office, highlighting the sharp contrast between the failures of the Biden administration and the results delivered under President Trump.

Good morning!

One year ago, President Trump returned to office and boy – are we ever living in a different world! 

Under Biden, 20 million illegal aliens flooded our country. Under Trump, it’s been eight months since an illegal alien was released by Border Patrol into the United States. 

It’s more than that though, isn’t it. We’ve had 2.6 million illegals leave our country. There are no more caravans barreling toward us.

All of that – it’s over. It’s solved. It’s done. And we have President Trump to thank for that.

The border is solved. Let’s talk about the economy. 

Under Biden, inflation peaked at 9.1 percent. Under Biden, the government was spending your money recklessly. Turn the page to Trump. Inflation is down to about 2.7 percent. We’re seeing the first overall price decline since 2020. The costs of eggs, butter, cereal, and pasta are down. 

Of course, it isn’t just that prices are coming down. Paychecks are going up.

The Working Families Tax Cut was transformational legislation.

No tax on tips.

No tax on overtime.

No tax on Social Security for 88 percent of seniors.

A tax break when you buy an American-made car.

A tax break on your mortgage.

A tax break when you grow your family. 

Name the life event – Republicans delivered a tax cut. 

And you know what? Every single Democrat voted against that tax cut.

Every single Democrat voted AGAINST eliminating taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security.

Every single Democrat voted AGAINST the Child Tax Credit.

Every single Democrat voted AGAINST giving a 15 percent tax cut to families making under $100,000. 

It’s shameful, really. 

But I’ll tell you this… our momentum won’t be stopped by their unwillingness to stand up for the American people. Our momentum won’t be stopped by the radical left or paid protesters. Our momentum is just beginning.

The Golden Age of America … folks, it’s just getting started.
