House Republicans Deliver on National Security, Energy, and Fiscal Responsibility

WASHINGTON—Today, House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed H.R. 4553, the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2026:

“Democrats continue to push Green New Deal fantasies, leading 209 Democrats to vote NO on energy security, NO on cuts to wasteful spending, and NO on American workers,” Chairwoman McClain said. “Alternatively, Republicans united to pass legislation that supercharges U.S. energy production, strengthens America’s nuclear arsenal, protects your hard-earned tax dollars, and secures America’s future. I’m proud to stand on the side of working Americans, delivering power, security, and freedom.”

H.R. 4553 provides $57.3 billion in funding to protect our national security, strengthen America’s energy dominance, and support key infrastructure and innovation. The bill cuts spending by more than $766 million, demonstrating HouseRepublicans’ commitment to fiscal responsibility.

H.R. 4553, the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act

  • Boosts national security by investing in America’s nuclear capabilities.
  • Promotes American energy dominance by supporting American leadership in new energy technologies and making the most of our vast resources. This helps lower costs and creates American jobs.
