What Is Nancy Pelosi So Afraid Of?

House Republicans are united against Speaker Pelosi’s latest radical, authoritarian abuse of power. Her political stunt to deny certain Republican members the opportunity to serve on what was supposed to be a bipartisan Select Committee on January 6th is shameful. We will not allow our members' voices to be silenced.  Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23): “Speaker Nancy Pelosi has taken the unprecedented step of denying the minority party’s picks for the Select Committee on January 6. This represents an egregious abuse of power and will irreparably damage this institution. Denying the voices of members who have served in the military and law enforcement, as well as leaders of standing committees, has made it undeniable that this panel has lost all legitimacy and credibility and shows the Speaker is more interested in playing politics than seeking the truth.  “Unless Speaker Pelosi reverses course and seats all five Republican nominees, Republicans will not be party to their sham process and will instead pursue our own investigation of the facts. Republican Whip Steve Scalise (LA-01): “Once again, Speaker Pelosi is taking unprecedented steps to cover up the truth and undermine any credibility of the January 6th Select Committee by unilaterally rejecting Republican members selected to serve on the Committee. There is absolutely no reason for rejecting Congressman Jordan and Congressman Banks from the January 6th Select Committee – both members are highly qualified to serve, and were eager to ask tough questions and search for the truth. “Speaker Pelosi has proven that she views this Committee as nothing more than a political circus, a sideshow to distract attention away from the facts, and to shift focus off of the devastation caused by her socialist agenda which has led to skyrocketing inflation, an explosion of crime in cities across America, and complete chaos at our southern border, with illegal aliens flooding into the country at record rates. “If Speaker Pelosi was actually concerned about objections to the electoral college certification, she would not have appointed Congressman Bennie Thompson, who objected to President Bush’s Ohio electoral votes in 2005, to chair the Committee, and Congressman Jamie Raskin, who challenged the certification of President Trump’s Florida electoral votes in 2017. “Speaker Pelosi has become a clear and present danger to fairness and decorum in the U.S. House of Representatives, and it’s long overdue for the mainstream media to hold her accountable. Republican Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (NY-21): "Nancy Pelosi is a radical authoritarian Speaker of the House. The American people have always known the truth - that the Pelosi partisan January 6th commission was never about investigating the facts, it was only ever about Pelosi's radical politics and the Left's endless obsession with crushing any discussion or debate. This commission is an absolute sham and has been a disgrace from the beginning; no amount of drooling excuses from the mainstream media will change that. “What is Nancy Pelosi so afraid of? She is afraid of the American people finding out the truth that her failed leadership and the gross mismanagement of the U.S. Capitol led to the tragic events that day. She is afraid of millions of peaceful and patriotic Americans across the country who are fighting for election integrity. She is afraid of her Republican colleagues who will work every day to hold her accountable for destroying this country and the United States Congress. "It is time to Fire Pelosi once and for all. I have no doubt that after next November, Nancy Pelosi will never, ever hold the Speaker's gavel again. She will make history as the most despised Speaker of the House who will be fired not once, but twice. And it can't come soon enough."
