WASHINGTON— House Republicans passed H.R. 8800, the Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act, legislation led by House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), to rebuild America’s defense industrial base, strengthen military readiness, and support service members and their families.

House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) and Chairman Rogers released the following statements:

“Peace through strength starts with the ability to build what our military needs,” Chairwoman McClain said. “I voted yes because this bill rebuilds America’s Arsenal of Freedom and gives our warfighters the tools to confront any threat. Our adversaries should never doubt that the United States is ready to defend itself and win.”

“Our national security depends on a ready, capable, and well-equipped fighting force backed by a robust and innovative defense industrial base. The FY27 NDAA delivers that,” Chairman Rogers said. “This is a strong bill that builds on President Trump’s Peace Through Strength agenda, supports servicemembers and military families, and gives our warfighters the resources they need to fight and win. After years of underinvestment, the FY27 NDAA revitalizes America’s defense industrial base and gives our military the capacity to deter our adversaries and carry out President Trump’s Peace Through Strength Agenda.”

The FY2027 NDAA provides service members with a pay raise of between 5 and 7 percent and improves military housing, childcare, and education. It also eliminates nearly $30 billion in wasteful programs and creates stronger tools to stop fraudulent payments.
