Tonight, Joe Biden will pass the buck and double down on Democrats’ failed Far Left agenda in his State of the Union Address—but make no mistake, America is still in a state of crisis following two years of one-party Democrat rule in Washington. Luckily, House Republicans have already hit the ground running to deliver on ourCommitment to America in this new House Majority.
In just the first few weeks, we have passed legislation reopening the People’s House, defending America’s energy security, protecting the sanctity of life, defunding Joe Biden’s IRS army, addressing the Chinese Communist Party’s malign influence, ending Biden’s COVID-19 power grab, and holding the Biden Administration accountable for their weaponization of the federal government. And we are just getting started.
FULFILLING OUR COMMITMENT TO AN ECONOMY THAT’S STRONG
BIDEN’S ECONOMIC CRISIS BY THE NUMBERS:
More Americans than ever before in the history of anABC News-Washington Post poll say they are worse off financially under the current president.
The balloon entered U.S. airspace on January 28th over the Aleutian Islands in Alaska.
Despite President Biden knowing of the threat and invasion of U.S. airspace violating our national sovereignty, he waited 5 days before issuing an order to shoot down the balloon.
The American people deserve to know why Joe Biden allowed this national security threat for so long, why he tried to hide it from the American people, and what information our foreign adversaries were gathering.
Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan resulted in:
OVER 1,000 Americans abandoned behind enemy lines for months at the mercy of the Taliban and $7 billion in U.S. military equipment left behind.
Fully fund effective border enforcement strategies, infrastructure, and advanced technology to prevent illegal crossings and trafficking by cartels.
End catch-and-release loopholes.
Reduce Crime and Protect Public Safety:
Support 200,000 more police officers through recruiting and retention bonuses.
Oppose all efforts to defund the police.
Crack down on prosecutors and district attorneys who refuse to prosecute crime, while permanently criminalizing all forms of illicit fentanyl.
Defend America’s National Security:
Support our troops.
Invest in an efficient, effective military.
Establish a Select Committee on China.
Exercise peace through strength with our allies to counter increasing global threats.
WHAT HOUSE REPUBLICANS HAVE ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED:
ESTABLISHED the Select Committee on Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party:
The Select Committee on China will provide policy recommendations on how the U.S. can win the economic and technological competition within the CCP and will investigate the CPP for (Courtesy of Speaker Kevin McCarthy):
Deceptive trade practices.
Supply chain risks and vulnerabilities.
Its role as supplier and producer of fentanyl and its failure to stop or control what is coming out of China.
Exploiting U.S. investment to power the CCP national security state.
Acquisition of agricultural land in America.
FULFILLING OUR COMMITMENT TO A FUTURE THAT’S BUILT UPON FREEDOM DEMOCRATS’ WAR ON PARENTS:
According to the Twitter files, Democrat lawmakers argued to Twitter employees that the First Amendment “isn’t absolute.”
The Head of Legal, Policy, and Trust Vijaya Gadde played a large role in silencing The New York Post’s reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop, initially claiming the cover of their “hacked materials” policy. But according to an anonymous employee: “They just freelanced it.”
Following the release of the bombshell Twitter Files, news broke that former FBI General Counsel Jim Baker was the Twitter counsel who secretly reviewed the documents before handing them over to journalists. Now, we know there could be even more evidence of censorship and political collusion between the Biden campaign and Big Tech that has been hidden from the American people.
A study by the head of Johns Hopkins Institute for Applied Economics shows Democrats’ radical extended mass lockdowns and school closures last year had “little to no effect” on COVID-19 mortality rates.
Make Sure Every Student Can Succeed and Give Parents a Voice:
Advance the Parents’ Bill of Rights
Recover lost learning from school closures
Expand parental choice so more than a million more students can receive the education their parents know is best
Defend fairness by ensuring that only women can compete in women’s sports
Achieve Longer, Healthier Lives for Americans:
Personalize care to provide affordable options and better quality, delivered by trusted doctors and hospitals
Lower prices through transparency, choice, and competition
Improve access to telemedicine
Confront Big Tech and Demand Fairness:
Provide greater privacy and data security protections for Americans
Equip parents with more tools to keep their kids safe online
Stop companies from putting politics ahead of people

86 Democrats voted against the resolution denouncing socialism and 14 voted present.

Increasing accountability in the election process through voter ID, accurate voter rolls, and observer access.
WHAT HOUSE REPUBLICANS HAVE ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED:
PASSED the 118th Congress Rules Package:
Ending the use of proxy voting and remote committee proceedings, ensuring that all Members actually show up in person to fulfill the jobs they were elected and are expected to do, rather than phone it in.
Mandates at least 72 hours after release of bill text before a final vote, giving all Members ample time to read legislation before its consideration.
Requires the Congressional Budget Office to provide analysis on the inflationary impact of legislation.
Requires House committees to establish oversight plans detailing how they will hold the Biden Administration accountable.
Restored the Holman Rule, allowing amendments to reduce the salary of specific federal employees or target a specific program.

This resolution rightfully condemns the political attacks and vandalism against crisis pregnancy centers, churches, and pro-life organizations by Far Left activists following the leak of the historic Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization draft opinion.
