Chairwoman McClain: January Jobs Report Blows Past Expectations

WASHINGTON—House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) issued the following statement today on the latest U.S. jobs report, which revealed stronger-than-expected employment gains and a lower unemployment rate:

“Today’s jobs report shows the U.S. economy continues to blow past expectations and deliver for hardworking Americans,” Chairwoman McClain said. “With 130,000 jobs added last month and the unemployment rate falling, this data reflects an economy that remains resilient despite lingering effects of Biden-era inflation. It’s proof that when we focus on pro-growth policies, cut taxes, reduce unnecessary regulations, and empower small businesses and job creators, workers win.”

The January Jobs Report issued by the Bureau of Labor Statistics significantly beat expectations, adding 130,000 jobs compared to expectations of 75,000.
