WASHINGTON– Today, House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) issued the following statement after House Republicans passed H.R. 3486, the Stop Illegal Entry Act, legislation that increases criminal penalties for illegal aliens who repeatedly re-enter the United States after removal.\

“President Trump showed us what a secure border looks like, and House Republicans are carrying that fight forward. Our message is clear: if you break our laws and sneak back into this country, you will face real consequences. Republicans are not playing games. Law and order is back,” Chairwoman McClain said. 

The Stop Illegal Entry Act, sponsored by Rep. Stephanie Bice (OK-05), strengthens penalties for illegal re-entry and reaffirms Republicans’ commitment to securing the border and keeping American communities safe.
