Chairwoman McClain Announces Next Stop on Tour to Promote Historic Tax Cuts for Working Families

Chairwoman Lisa McClain Continues Nationwide Tour Promoting Pro-Growth, Pro-Family Policies

WASHINGTON – House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) is continuing her nationwide tour to highlight how House Republicans delivered historic tax relief for working families. This week, Chairwoman McClain will visit the districts of Representatives John McGuire (VA-05), Jen Kiggans (VA-02), and Rob Wittman (VA-01) to spotlight how Republican policies are benefiting businesses, manufacturers, workers, and Virginia families. The tour will make stops at a family-owned restaurant, a sheet metal manufacturer, and a compressor station to highlight the wins for American energy and manufacturing workers.

“Republicans delivered the most pro-worker, pro-family tax relief in American history,” Chairwoman McClain said. “While Democrats voted to increase taxes and raise costs on working families, House Republicans will continue to highlight our legislative achievements on behalf of all Americans. I am excited to head to Virginia with my colleagues to champion how our policies are lowering taxes for hardworking families, bringing manufacturing jobs back to America, and lowering energy costs.”

“I am honored to welcome Chairwoman Lisa McClain to the Fifth District of Virginia to highlight the results of House Republicans and President Trump delivering for Virginians and the American People,” Rep. McGuire said. “The Working Families Tax Cut eliminates tax on tips and overtime pay, and helps workers keep more of their hard-earned dollars, and codifies 28 President Trump Executive Orders. The County Seat Restaurant is the perfect place to highlight the benefits of this legislation and how it strengthens our local economies. The visit is a chance to show the meaningful impact the Working Families Tax Cut has on our communities, and I am proud to fight in Washington for the people of the Fifth District.”

“The Working Families Tax Cut addresses the energy crisis in America and puts money back in the pockets of hardworking families,” Rep. Wittman said. “I am honored to welcome Chairwoman McClain to Virginia to highlight how H.R.1 not only strengthens American energy independence but also lowers the cost of energy, ensuring families across the Commonwealth can thrive.”

“I was proud to vote for the Working Families Tax Cut, which supports manufacturing facilities like Acoustical Sheetmetal in Virginia Beach. From no tax on overtime to no tax on tips, this bill is a win for workers and businesses alike—and will build the kind of economic momentum our country needs. I am honored to welcome Chairwoman McClain to Hampton Roads and look forward to sharing House Republicans’ tremendous wins with residents of VA-02,” Rep. Kiggans said.

“Thanks to Chairwoman McClain and Representative Kiggans’ leadership in partnering with our industry and championing the most competitive tax policies manufacturers have seen in a generation, manufacturers like Acoustical Sheetmetal are strengthened by the wins in this recent tax legislation. Manufacturers now have the certainty they need to grow their business, invest in their workers, hire more people and compete like never before. As a supplier to data centers, demand is booming. Acoustic Sheetmetal is just one of the many manufacturers across Virginia and the nation better positioned to scale their business and support their communities,” Jay Timmons, President and CEO of NAM, said.

“Just this summer, Acoustical Sheetmetal announced its third expansion and the creation of 350 new jobs in Virginia Beach. Thanks to Rep. Kiggans and her colleagues in Congress, we have the long-term tax certainty needed to plan for future expansions and growth—especially as demand grows for data centers,” Margaret Shaia, CEO, Acoustical Sheetmetal, said.

“We appreciate Congresswoman McClain and Congressman Wittman for their leadership and for being true partners in energy progress. At TC Energy, we are proud to invest in projects across the nation, including in Virginia, where reliable, secure energy is creating well-paying jobs, strengthening communities, and keeping Americans connected. By modernizing critical infrastructure in Virginia and other key states, TC Energy is delivering the energy Americans depend on,” Tina Faraca, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer, Natural Gas Pipelines, said.
