House Republicans Continue Unleashing American Energy by Reversing Biden-Era Restrictions

WASHINGTON—This week, House Republicans returned to Washington focused on delivering real results for working American families, reversing three costly Biden administration-era energy policies. The trio of Congressional Review Act resolutions repeals the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) limits on American energy production, which have driven up everyday costs for working Americans.

House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain issued the following statement after the passage of H.J. Res. 104, H.J. Res. 105, and H.J. Res. 106:

“Biden’s radical regulations have strangled American energy, killed jobs, and sent working families’ energy bills through the roof. Enough is enough. HouseRepublicans are tearing down Biden’s red tape, bringing back American energy dominance, and putting hardworking families first,” Chairwoman McClain said.

H.J. Res. 104 overturns the BLM Rule for the Miles City Field Office in Montana, overturning restrictions that prohibit future coal leasing across the entire Powder River Basin, which contains about 30 percent of the nation’s coal reserves.

H.J. Res. 105 overturns the BLM Rule for the North Dakota Field Office, repealing the Biden-era “North Dakota Resource Management Plan” (RMP) that restricts over 4 million acres of land in North Dakota from coal leasing and oil and gas development.

H.J. Res. 106 overturns the BLM Rule for Central Yukon in Alaska, repealing the Biden-era “Central Yukon Resource Management Plan” (RMP) that restricts more than 13.3 million acres of land in Alaska and poses challenges to national security and economic prosperity.
