Chairwoman McClain and Rep. Pfluger’s Statements on the U.S. House Passing Legislation to Reverse Biden’s Energy Policies

WASHINGTON — House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) and Republican Study Committee Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11) released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed H. J. Res. 25, which reverses a disastrous Biden-era energy regulation:

“House Republicans are wasting no time undoing Biden’s energy legacy. His disastrous policies have hurt domestic energy production and increased prices. Passing Rep. Pfluger’s bill will reverse the strict regulations and lower energy costs for all Americans,” Chairwoman McClain said.

In November, the American people overwhelmingly voted for lower energy prices, and today, House Republicans took another step towards fulfilling that mandate. In the latest effort to reverse Biden's disastrous energy policies, the House passed my bill to nullify the EPA’s rule implementing the ill-conceived natural gas tax. This tax raises costs on production, discourages investment, and increases energy prices across America. I am looking forward to working toward a full repeal of the underlying statute and continuing to implement President Trump’s pro-energy agenda,  Rep. Pfluger said.

H. J. Res. 35 reverses a Biden administration rule from the Environmental Protection Agency related to “Waste Emissions Charge for Petroleum and Natural Gas Systems.”
