Highlights from Tammy Nobles’ testimony. Tammy Nobles’ autistic 20-year-old daughter Kayla Hamilton was strangled to death by an illegal immigrant who was an MS-13 gang member.
“Let’s take a moment and think about how Kayla felt that day. How scared she must have been that day, knowing that she was dying, if she was going to see her mommy again, her baby sister, her brother, or her cat, Oreo. Kayla fought for her life that day with all that she had, and in the end, she lost to an individual that wasn’t even supposed to be allowed in the country.
For me, this is not a political issue. This is a safety issue for everyone living in the United States. This could have been anyone’s daughter. I don’t want any other parent to live the nightmare that I am living. I am her voice now and I’m going to fight with everything I have to get her story told and bring awareness of the issue at the border. If we had stricter border policies, my daughter would still be alive today. Nothing will bring my daughter back nor fix the pain of not having her here. But I want to prevent this from happening to someone else’s child. This isn’t about immigration. This is about protecting everyone in the United States.”
Highlights from Josephine Dunn’s testimony. Josephine Dunn’s daughter Ashley Dunn died in 2021 of fentanyl poisoning.
“My family is broken. My heart is broken and he couldn’t even be here to face me today. Whatever he’s doing, that is more important than facing me today, I don’t know what that could be. Our country deserves a secure border. Our country deserves to feel safe. Our country deserves to be free of fentanyl. We need to close the fentanyl superhighway. We need to close the border. Thank you.”
Secretary Mayorkas, who refused to attend this hearing, is “chiefly responsible for the chaos and devastation that has unfolded over the past three years” at America’s borders. Following this hearing, all 18 House Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee announced they support Mayorkas’ impeachment by the House of Representatives.
JOE BIDEN AND ALEJANDRO MAYORKAS’ BORDER CRISIS BY THE NUMBERS:
- Since Joe Biden took office and under Alejandro Mayorkas’ watch:
- There have been 8 million illegal crossings nationwide.
- There have been OVER 6.7 MILLION illegal crossings of our Southern Border.
- There have been 1.7 million known gotaways who evaded U.S. Border Patrol.
- In November, there were 242,418 illegal immigrants encountered at the Southern Border.
- This is a 236% increase from November 2020.
- November was the 33rd straight month, where monthly illegal immigrant encounters have been higher than even the highest month seen under President Trump.
- Mayorkas used mass parole to release more than 1.5 million inadmissible aliens into the Country, despite the Immigration and Nationality Act stating that parole is to be used only on a “case by case” and “temporary” basis, for a “significant public benefit or urgent humanitarian reason.”
- In November, 18 more individuals whose names appear on the terrorist watchlist were stopped trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border between ports of entry.
- So far under Biden, 312 of these individuals whose names appear on the terrorist watchlist were stopped trying to cross the Southern Border.
- In November 2023, 4,797 Chinese nationals were encountered at the Southwest border. This represents a nearly 800% increase compared to November 2022.
- In FY23, 169 people whose names appear on the terrorist watchlist were stopped trying to cross the Southern Border, an all time record.
- This total is more than the encounters in all FY17, FY18, FY19, FY20, FY21, and FY22 combined.
- Biden’s Far Left open border policies are to blame for this historic crisis.
- During Biden’s first 100 days in office, he took 94 executive actions on immigration, including halting the construction of the border wall.
- In August 2022, Biden and his Administration decided to make the border crisis WORSE by formally ending former President Trump’s successful ‘Remain in Mexico’ program.
- The Biden Administration announced on May 10, 2023, that it would allow for the release of some migrants into the U.S. with no way to track them.
- Biden’s Department of Homeland Security has now admitted that 40 percent of catch-and-release migrants have disappeared.
- Despite this historic crisis, Joe Biden has only visited the southern border ONCE, and it was widely panned as nothing more than a photo-op.
