PROMISES MADE, PROMISES KEPT: Just this month, House Republicans delivered on our commitment to LIFE by passing the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and a resolution in support of crisis pregnancy centers and other pro-life organizations who have been attacked and vandalized by Far Left radicals following the leak of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization opinion draft.

THE FACTS ABOUT LIFE: 

• An unborn child is a human life.
• AT 6 WEEKS:
  • The unborn baby has a heartbeat of approximately 98 beats per minute.
  • Blood vessels are forming into the circulatory system.
  • The brain is rapidly developing.
• BY 10 WEEKS:
  • The unborn baby has arms and legs, fingers and toes.
  • The unborn baby is sucking his or her thumb.
  • The unborn baby can now sigh, stretch, move his or her head, mouth, and tongue.
  • The baby can kick and will jump if startled.
  • The unborn baby’s pain receptors have been developing for weeks (week 7).
• BY 15 WEEKS:
  • All of the unborn baby’s major organs have formed.
  • The unborn baby has a fully developed heart that pumps 26 quarts of blood per day.
  • The unborn baby can feel pain.
  • Surgeries have been successfully performed on unborn babies at this age.

THE FACTS ON DEMOCRATS’ RADICAL AGENDA:

• There have now been nearly 80 recorded acts of violence and intimidation against pro-life individuals and organizations by radical pro-abortion activists since the initial leak of the draft Supreme Court Dobbs opinion.
• According to the Charlotte Lozier Institute, hundreds of babies have been born following failed abortion procedures, and less than half of states have sufficient protections for them.
• The U.S. is one of a small handful of nations, including China and North Korea, that allows late-term abortion on demand up to the moment of birth.
• The American people overwhelmingly believe babies who are born alive should be protected.
• According to a Harvard/Harris poll, over 70% of voters prefer to limit abortion to 15 weeks.
• 70% of voters oppose abortion without restrictions, according to a national poll by OnMessage Inc..
• 58% of Americans hold strong opposition to Congressional Democrats and the Biden administration’s support of taxpayer-funded abortions, according to a Marist/Knights of Columbus poll.
• Since 2016, crisis pregnancy centers have saved more than 800,000 lives.
  • Over 70% of voters approve of crisis pregnancy centers.
• The Hyde Amendment has saved more than 2.5 million lives.

BOTTOM LINE: For two years, one-party Democrat rule in Washington fought for a radical, abortion-on-demand, until the moment of birth agenda at the expense of the unborn. In this new majority, House Republicans are working to create a government that defends Americans’ constitutional rights—and that includes our most fundamental right to LIFE.
