This evening, Joe Biden will deliver his final State of the Union Address. Over the past three years, Americans have suffered from skyrocketing Bidenflation, surging violent crime, the catastrophic open border, and a dangerously weakened national security.
Tonight is an excellent opportunity for House Republicans to once again contrast our work delivering results for the American people and our vision for America's future with the failures of Joe Biden and his Administration.
BIDENOMICS BY THE NUMBERS:
Inflation is a tax on ALL Americans.
When Joe Biden took office, inflation was at just 1.4%.
Since Joe Biden took office inflation has risen by 17.9%.
Electricity is UP 28.6% since Biden took office.
Food prices are UP 20.8% since Biden took office.
Rent of primary residence is UP 19.5% since Biden took office.
Americans are paying more for just about everything because of inflation:
Frozen noncarbonated juices and drinks are UP 29.0%
Motor vehicle insurance is UP 20.6%
Repair of household items is UP 18.2%

Food from vending machines and mobile vendors is UP 10.6%

Under Joe Biden’s failed economic agenda, Americans are spending over $11,400 more annually to buy the basics.
Since Joe Biden took office, Americans are spending over $1,000 more a month than they were three years ago.
The average monthly payments on a new home soared to $3,322 in the third quarter of 2023 marking a staggering 90% increase since late 2020 when it hovered at just $1,746 before Biden took office.
According to a recent survey, one in eight retirees plan to return to work in 2024, largely due to Bidenflation.
BIDEN’S CRIME CRISIS BY THE NUMBERS:
Last year, D.C. had the highest number of homicides since 1997 with 274 homicides.
Homicides in Chicago are up 23% compared to 2019.
Murders in New York City are up 23.1% from 2019, while felony assault is up 35.4%.
Across 32 cities, car thefts increased 33.5% in the first half of 2023.
Carjackings in Washington, D.C. are up 98% from 2022.
Car thefts in New York City are up 191% from 2019.
Businesses lost $112 BILLION due to retail theft in 2022, up from $93.9 billion in 2021.
A record 5,363 NYPD cops were injured on the job in 2023.
BIDEN’S BORDER CRISIS BY THE NUMBERS:
Since Joe Biden took office:
There have been 8.7 million illegal crossings nationwide.
There have been OVER 7.2 MILLION illegal crossings of our Southern Border.
The total number of illegal immigrants who have entered through our Southern Border is greater than the population of 36 states. Including:
Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
There have been 1.8 million known gotaways who evaded U.S. Border Patrol.
Since the start of FY 2024, there have been OVER 1 million illegal immigrant encounters.
In January, there were 176,205 illegal immigrants encountered at the Southern Border.
January was the 35th straight month where monthly illegal immigrant encounters have been higher than even the highest month seen under President Trump.
Under Biden, over 340 of these individuals whose names appear on the terrorist watchlist were stopped trying to cross the Southern Border.
So far in FY24, there have been 58 individuals whose names appear on the terrorist watch list who have been stopped trying to enter the U.S. illegally between ports of entry at the Southern Border.
This total is more than the encounters in all FY17, FY18, FY19, FY20, FY21, and FY22 combined.
Joe Biden's White House claimed that the Southern Border was "secure" just days after the man charged with the horrifying murder of 22-year-old Laken Riley, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, entered the United States illegally.
Biden himself went a step further than that on September 20, 2022, saying that it was "not rational" to deport illegal immigrants from Venezuela.
Over 20,000 Communist Chinese nationals have illegally crossed the Southern Border since FY24 began in October.
Communist Chinese nationals are exploiting Joe Biden’s failed Far Left open border policies at “record-breaking figures,” becoming “the fastest-growing demographic entering the country illegally.”
The surge in Communist Chinese nationals encountered at our Southern Border has raised serious concerns that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is exploiting the Biden border crisis for nefarious reasons.
Biden’s Far Left open border policies are to blame for this historic crisis.
There are OVER 60 instances of Joe Biden and his Administrationtaking actions that undermined our nation’s border security, including halting the construction of the border wall.
In August 2022, Biden and his Administration decided to make the border crisis WORSE by formally ending former President Trump’s successful ‘Remain in Mexico’ program.”
The Biden Administration announced on May 10, 2023, that it would allow for the release of some migrants into the U.S. with no way to track them.
Biden’s Department of Homeland Security has now admitted that 40 percent of catch-and-release migrants have disappeared.
BIDEN’S NATIONAL SECURITY CRISIS:
Joe Biden has failed to stand up to our adversaries in Beijing, Tehran, and Moscow.
Biden’s strategy of appeasement toward Iran has resulted in the deadliest attack against the Jewish people since the Holocaust, hundreds of Iranian-backed terrorist attacks on American service members, and plunged the Middle East into chaos.
On October 7, 2023, the world witnessed Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists perpetrate the deadliest attack against the Jewish people since the Holocaust.
To appease Iran, Biden removed the Houthis from the U.S. list of foreign terror organizations.
Houthis have fired ballistic missiles at commercial ships and attacked a U.S. warship with Iranian drones.
In 2023, Biden gave Iran, the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, $6 billion as a ransom payment for five American prisoners, jeopardizing Americans' safety around the world.
The Biden Administration admitted that there would be no way to control how Iran spends the $6 billion dollars.
While American service members were under attack by Iranian-backed terrorists, the Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin was MIA, and Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks was on vacation in Puerto Rico.
On January 1, 2024, Austin was hospitalized. The Department of Defense did not disclose Austin’s hospitalization to President Biden, Congress, senior Defense Department officials, or senior White House national security staff for several days.
Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks was not informed of Austin’s hospitalization when she assumed his duties and was on vacation in Puerto Rico.
In the chain of command, the Secretary of Defense serves as the connection through which the President commands and controls our armed forces; it is unknown who was calling the shots while Austin was hospitalized.
House Committee on Armed Services, under the leadership of Chairman Mike Rogers (R-AL) has launched a formal inquiry into Secretary Austin’s failure to disclose his hospitalization and incapacitation.
The Biden Administration allowed a Chinese surveillance balloon to traverse the entire continental U.S. over the course of 7 days, gathering intelligence and flying over sensitive military sites, before taking action.
The balloon entered U.S. airspace on January 28th over the Aleutian Islands in Alaska.
Despite President Biden knowing of the threat and invasion of U.S. airspace violating our national sovereignty, he waited 5 daysbefore issuing an order to shoot down the balloon.
The American people deserve to know why Joe Biden allowed this national security threat for so long, why he tried to hide it from the American people, and what information our foreign adversaries were gathering.
Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan resulted in:
Biden is "privately defiant" that he made the right calls during his Administration's catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021.
Biden's catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan led to thedeadliest attack on Americans in Afghanistan since 2011, killing 13 of our brave service members and wounding many others.
OVER 1,000 Americans were abandoned behind enemy lines for months at the mercy of the Taliban, and $7 billion in U.S. military equipment was left behind.
Under Biden, the U.S. Army fell 15,000 soldiers short of their recruitment goal for FY22, missing by 25%.
According to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Personnel Policy, who testified before the Senate Armed Services Personnel Subcommittee, “This constitutes an unprecedented mission gap.”
The Army projects the number of active duty soldiers could drop by as much as 6% in FY23, below the branch’s budgeted target request for the year.
