RSVP HERE for more invites and other updates from House Republican Conference
WHEN:
TOMORROW, Thursday, June 16, 2016
9:30 AM ET
WHAT:
You have elected us to serve as your representatives, to serve as your voice in the halls of the Capitol and bring your concerns and ideas to the table. At the end of the day, this building and this country belong to YOU.
But something has changed.
Government has gotten too big. At home, we hear stories of government rules gone rogue – rules created that prevent people from running their business, getting an affordable education, and, for some, paying their bills.
Individuals that you didn’t vote for, can’t petition, and can’t vote out are passing rules that have the same impact as laws—with no accountability. This is not how representative government is meant to work.
So, tomorrow, we are meeting in Statuary Hall—the place where it all began—to discuss the vision our founding fathers had for this country—a vision that reflects a government that is “of the people, by the people.” We have gotten way off track and this country is becoming one of “We, the Government” instead of “We, the People.” The government exists to serve you, not the other way around.
Republicans have had enough. We are presenting a better way. Our goal is to get out of your way so that the next generation can freely pursue their version of the American Dream.
HOW:
Unfortunately, we can’t fit 320 million chairs into the space where we are hosting the event. So we are bringing the event LIVE to a screen near you via Facebook. Tune in for the latest updates on the event and share your thoughts when we go live tomorrow morning at 9:30 AM ET. And if you miss it? It will be available to watch after the event on our page as well.
