VIDEO: “Andy”

Meet Andy Brantley: President and CEO of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) and former Associate Vice President for Human Resources at the University of Georgia, he is committed to achieving work-life balance so employees can devote time to life issues that go “beyond the campus.”

Rep. Martha Roby (AL-02) recently introduced the Working Families Flexibility Act of 2013 – commonsense legislation that would remove obstacles for working families to better balance work and family obligations. State and local government employees have been able to choose paid time off as compensation for working overtime hours since 1985, allowing these public-sector employees greater flexibility to meet family obligations. However, an outdated federal mandate prohibits private-sector workers from enjoying this same benefit.

As a leader in human resources, Andy is proud that the University of Georgia’s employees are given the option to choose between compensatory time and overtime pay – and believes that employees at private universities should be afforded the same flexibility. It would enhance work-life balance, help universities meet their academic missions, and make life easier for all hardworking Americans.
