VIDEO: Agile. Efficient. Ready. Lethal.

Today Chairman Mac Thornberry (R-TX) of the House Armed Services Committee released a video to highlight the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2016. The legislation, which the House will consider this week, meets the obligation of Congress to “provide for the common defense.”

Here are some highlights from the FY2016 NDAA:

AGILE — A series of reforms designed to improve military benefits, reform the dysfunctional acquisition system & help the Pentagon do a better job balancing “tooth-to-tail.”

EFFICIENT — The NDAA cuts wasteful, inefficient, or poorly budgeted programs & dedicates those resources to more urgent needs

READY — The NDAA assures our forces are ready to meet an unprecedented array of threats by establishing sound strategies to protect America.

LETHAL — America’s military must have the platforms & programs required to be a reliably lethal force.  The NDAA authorizes funds to be used for 21st century weapons, machinery, and other investments to ensure lethality.
