This Week in 5 Videos

It was another busy week in the House of Representatives, which started with the House Budget Committee releasing its FY2016 budget proposal (which actually balances, unlike the President’s budget). In addition, the House passed bills to rein in the EPA and the National Labor Relations Review Board (NLRB), and President Obama literally said ObamaCare is working better than he expected.

It’s This Week in 5 Videos:

1. On Monday, the House Budget Committee released ‘A Balanced Budget for a Stronger America‘ — a plan that trims the size and scope of the federal government, repeals ObamaCare, and fully equips our military to deal with emerging threats around the world.

2. On Tuesday, the House debated and passed the EPA Science Advisory Board Reform Act of 2015. This bill  updates the law, restores independence to the Science Advisory Board, and strengthens scientific integrity. Here’s Rep. Frank Lucas (R-OK), the sponsor of the bill:

3. On Wednesday, the House continued to rein in EPA overreach by passing a 2-page bill called the Secret Science Reform Act of 2014The bill demands transparency from the EPA, ensuring the agency bases its regulations on the best available science that is publicly available. Hear from House Science, Space, and Technology Chairman Lamar Smith (R-TX), the bill’s sponsor:

4. On Thursday, the House passed S.J.Res. 8 to put an end to the NLRB’s ‘Ambush Elections’ that deny workers, employers, and union members access to fair union elections. House Education and Workforce Committee Chairman John Kline (R-MN) spoke about the bill on the floor:

5. Capping off the week, President Obama said yesterday in Cleveland that ObamaCare “is working better than even I expected.” Seriously. Apparently canceled plans, higher costs, and a broken website meet the satisfaction of this administration. More on his statement from Speaker Boehner.
