Did you know that so far this year the House passed more than 270 bills focused on what Americans care most about?
As she crisscrosses her Eastern Washington district, House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) is making sure everyone she meets knows we’re hard at work. Despite the distractions, we accomplished a lot. Learn more at www.DidYouKnow.gop.
Next up for House Republicans? Tax reform. One thing is clear: the American people expect us to go big on tax reform. That’s why today she talked to Fox Business’s Connell McShane about the growing excitement for our work in the fall:
As I said this morning on Fox Business, this is our moment to do tax reform. Tax reform is the best way to create jobs and grow our economy.

REPUBLICANS’ GOALS WITH TAX REFORM
“Our goal on tax reform has always been to bring down tax rates, close loopholes, get our economy growing, and allow people to keep more of their hard-earned tax dollars. That’s going to continue to be our goal. We’ve been talking about this for months — for years, actually — and now is the time for action.”
WHAT SHE’S HEARING AT HOME
“As we’re home in our districts, I know that as I get around Eastern Washington I hear a lot of people asking about tax reform. A lot of people are anxious for Congress, the President, to take action. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to enact meaningful tax reform.”
KEEPING AMERICAN BUSINESSES IN AMERICA
“As you think about businesses that are relocating their headquarters or being bought out by others around the world, we want those businesses here in America. We want people to believe that they can start a business, grow a business, and do it right here in America — produce, manufacture in a competitive way. And that’s why tax reform is so important.”
WE’RE ALREADY WORKING ON THIS
“There’s a lot of work that’s already been done…this is something that is seen as a must-do. Doing big things is never easy, but we have, in the House, been having hearings, we’ve been working on this for years, and there’s been a lot of work done in a bipartisan way.”
