WASHINGTON, D.C.– House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released the following statement in honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

“Today, we honor the memory of the Jewish victims and survivors of the Holocaust, along with the millions who suffered alongside them. Their suffering during one of the darkest times in history must never be ignored or forgotten. In the words of Elie Wiesel, ‘for the dead and the living, we must bear witness.’

“As we pay homage to the lives that were lost and remember the freedom that triumphed when the death camps were liberated, we renew our commitment to extinguishing racial hatred across the globe. We all have an obligation and a responsibility to teach our children and generations to come the story of the Holocaust so they can ensure the darkness, intolerance, and murder of the Holocaust can never occur again.”
