WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, released the following statement after House Democrats blocked the Trickett Wendler, Frank Mongiello, Jordan McLinn, and Matthew Bellina Right to Try Act of 2018, sponsored by Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA).

“By voting down the Right to Try Act of 2018, Democrats just voted to keep potentially lifesaving treatments out of reach for terminally ill patients who are fighting for their lives. It’s unacceptable. For the sake of patients and their families who need hope and access to experimental treatments before it’s too late, I urge my colleagues across the aisle to reverse their opposition.”
