So what’s the deal with Keystone?

Last spring, House Republicans passed H.R. 3, the Northern Route Approval Act. But this job-creating bill, which approves the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline, is still stuck in the Senate — along with over 300 House-passed solutions.

The Keystone XL Pipeline would have tremendous economic impact on the American people. Not only would it create over 42,000 jobs, it would reduce American dependency on foreign oil by hundreds of thousands of barrels. It would also grow our GDP and generate tax revenue.

But even though a majority of Americans support the creation of the Keystone XL Pipeline, Senate Democrats aren’t doing anything about it.  President Obama hasn’t acted on the proposal for over six years — leaving Americans scratching their heads. What are they waiting for?

This is not a time for lack of leadership or political games. Americans are looking for a solution to the stagnant job market and increased costs they face every day — and the Senate’s inaction prevents thousands of Americans from new jobs, a stronger economy, and energy security.  Senate Democrats and President Obama have already wasted six years of growth —  their time is up. Americans are tired of seeing their future #StuckInTheSenate.
