‘Schiff’ outta excuses

Today, all nine Republican members of the House Intelligence Committee are calling for Adam Schiff’s immediate resignation as chairman.

Schiff is responding by doubling down on the Russian collusion hoax and repeating the same debunked claims that caused his colleagues to lose all confidence in his ability to lead.

Here’s how we got here:

  • On March 22, 2017, Schiff claimed that as Ranking Member of the House Intelligence Committee, there was “More than circumstantial evidence” that Trump associates colluded with Russia.
  • Schiff continued making these baseless claims throughout 2018 and 2019, stating there was “clear evidence of intent to collude” and “evidence in plain sight of collusion.”
  • Despite Special Counsel Robert Mueller finding no evidence of collusion after a two-year investigation, Schiff is using committee resources to hire seven full-time staffers to continue his collusion witch hunt.

It begs the question: Schiff may try to get crafty with his inaccurate statements, but how can he claim to have any credibility after Attorney General Barr’s letter plainly stated “The special counsel did not find that any US person or Trump campaign official conspired or knowingly co-ordinated with Russia”?
