Republicans Stand For Life. Democrats Stand With Partisan Extremists

Today, the Senate voted on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act which will give a voice to the voiceless and protect the most vulnerable among us by allowing life-saving care to be given to children born alive after a failed abortion.

In the House, Republicans have tried repeatedly to bring this common sense legislation to the floor for a vote. 204 members, including all House Republicans and even three Democrats, have signed a discharge petition to force a vote on this measure, and House Republicans have tried 80 times to bring up this bill under a unanimous consent request, only to be blocked by Speaker Pelosi and Democrats.

This is not partisan legislation. This is about doing what’s right and making sure that babies who are born alive have access to the life-saving care that they deserve.

In fact, 77 percent of Americans believe that Congress should protect babies born-alive and 62 percent oppose legislation that would allow for late-term abortions.

Bottom Line: This is not about abortion. It’s about defending innocent life. Instead of standing with the vast majority of Americans, Democrats are opting to kowtow to their radical base which is exactly what their party has done since retaking the majority in the House.

Children who are born alive deserve to be protected. Period. Republicans will always stand up for life, but Democrats are showing again that they will put their partisan interests first.
