House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released the following statement after the House passed the Protect Medical Innovation Act of 2018 (H.R.184), introduced by Rep. Erik Paulsen.
“I’m glad the People’s House took action today to permanently repeal the job-crushing medical device tax. We’ve already delayed this harmful Obamacare tax because there is bipartisan agreement that it will stifle innovation, eliminate jobs, and raise health care costs. A permanent and complete repeal is necessary to lower costs for patients and give our nation’s medical device innovators and manufacturers the certainty they need. Thank you, Rep. Erik Paulsen, for your continued leadership on this issue.”
