House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released the following statement after the House passed H. Res. 970, a resolution introduced by Rep. Mark Meadows insisting that the Department of Justice fully comply with subpoenas made by the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and by the Committee on the Judiciary related to potential violations of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) by personnel of the Department of Justice.
“The Department of Justice must have the trust of the American people. To earn that trust, it needs to be accountable and transparent. I support this resolution, and urge the DOJ to turn over the documents that Congress has requested by the time specified. No one is above the law, especially not America’s top law enforcement agency whose sole mission is to impartially enforce it.”
