On National Coffee Day, we compare some numbers

Today is National Coffee Day — a chance to celebrate the liquid caffeine that so many Americans rely on every day.

Reportedly 83% of American adults drink coffee, a number that’s growing every year.

But here’s a more shocking realization: According to a new study by the Republican Senate Budget Committee, more American adults drink coffee than have a full-time job. Out of the 124.5 million Americans in their prime working years, nearly a quarter are not currently employed.

So while 1 in 6 adults don’t drink coffee, 1 in 4 don’t have a job to drink coffee for beforehand.

Our economy is not working. It’s failing hardworking Americans and their families. The President’s top-down economic approaches are stifling economic growth and making it harder for Americans to succeed.

House Republicans have passed dozens of solutions that will create jobs through strong, natural economic growth. Unfortunately, Senate Democrats continue to stand in the way. Maybe they need a cup of coffee to give them the energy they need to work…
