Steve Russell is a fifth-generation Oklahoman who represents Oklahoma’s Fifth Congressional District. Mr. Russell attended Ouachita Baptist University, where he earned a BA in public speaking and served as cadet corps commander of the ROTC Cadets. Shortly after, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Infantry. Throughout his 28-year military career, Mr. Russell served more than seven years overseas, and his unit played an integral role in the capture of Sadam Hussein during Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Following his service, Mr. Russell opened a small rifle manufacturing business and served as a state Senator for four years before being elected to the 114th Congress in 2014. Mr. Russell now serves on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, as well as the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. He is married to his college sweetheart, Cindy, and has five grown children.
