Congressman Glenn Grothman is proudly serving the people of Wisconsin’s 6th District in his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives. Prior to his election in 2014, Grothman served in the Wisconsin State Senate and State Assembly for over 20 years. Grothman is a lifelong Wisconsinite and serves on the House Budget Committee, Committee on Oversight & Government Reform, the Education & the Workforce Committee, and the Joint Economic Committee.
Grothman was first elected to represent the 20th State Senate District in 2004, He was re-elected in 2008 and 2012 and served as Assistant Majority Leader for the body. He served as a Representative to the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1993 through 2003.
Grothman’s time in office has been marked by his passionate advocacy for jobs, tax reform, welfare reform, education reform, and pro-life causes. He served on the State Legislature’s budget-writing committee for several terms, and is now a strong advocate for lower taxes and limited government spending at the federal level.
Grothman earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He graduated from Homestead High School near his hometown of Thiensville, Wisconsin.
Grothman, 59, lives in the Town of Osceola in Fond du Lac County.
