House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released the following statement after the House passed legislation to fund the Department of Defense for the 2018 Fiscal Year. This bill has passed the House twice already but has not yet been considered in the Senate.
Today, the @HouseGOP is sending a bill to the Senate again to fund our military for a full year so our troops have the tools and resources they need when performing very dangerous jobs. pic.twitter.com/0idVEFyOzn

“It’s Congress’ primary responsibility to provide for our national defense. We must ensure that our men and women in uniform have the tools and resources they need to do their jobs so they can keep America safe and secure. That’s why the House is sending a bill to the Senate for the third time to fund the Department of Defense for a full fiscal year and to give our troops their largest pay raise in 8 years.
“Our troops, who are serving on the front lines at this very moment, bravely risk their lives every day to protect their fellow Americans. They depend on this funding. I commend Chairs Rodney Frelinghuysen and Kay Granger for their leadership, and I join them in urging Senate Democrats to stop blocking this bill from becoming law.”
