WASHINGTON DC – House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released the following statement tonight after the House voted to keep the government open, delay the individual mandate, and repeal the Obamacare subsidy for Members of Congress.
“Tonight the House took action to keep the government open and promote fairness for everyone in this country. If hardworking Americans back home are forced to feel the pain of Obamacare, so too should their Members of Congress. If President Obama can delay this law for big business and special interests, the Senate should do the same for moms and dads, seniors and young people. The American people have spoken: they want to keep the government open and they want Members of Congress to be treated just like them. Now the Senate needs to listen and quickly act.”
