Washington, D.C. – House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released the following statement after the House passed the Increasing Opportunity and Success for Children and Parents through Evidence-Based Home Visiting Act (H.R. 2824). Sponsored by Rep. Adrian Smith (R-NE), this bill reauthorizes the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program through Fiscal Year 2022. The program seeks to strengthen and improve home visiting services to families in at-risk communities.
“Strengthening our families means strengthening our future as a country, and I am thankful to Rep. Adrian Smith (R-NE) for looking out for our working families. This legislation puts the needs of our families first so that they are set up for success. The evidence-based programs within this legislation have been proven to help break the cycle of poverty and empower men, women, and children to live their fullest lives.”
