Put People Ahead of Political Games

WASHINGTON – House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) issued the following statement today after the U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation to address the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) air traffic controller furloughs:

“The legislation the House passed today effectively addresses the widespread crisis imposed by the President’s politically-motivated flight delays. With bipartisan support for this bill, Democrats have abandoned their calls for higher taxes and budget gimmicks – and they have finally joined Republicans to put the best interest of the people ahead of the President’s political games. As Americans are traveling to see their kids graduate from college, flying across the country to take care of their elderly parents, and taking business trips that will help support their families, it’s time for the President and the FAA to end this manufactured crisis and stop these unnecessary delays.”
