McMorris Rodgers: Modernizing North American Energy Infrastructure

WASHINGTON, DC – House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) applauded the House passage today of H.R. 3301, the bipartisan North American Energy Infrastructure Act,which modernizes the approval process for cross-border oil and natural gas pipelines as well as electric transmission lines.

“We must come together to make it easier to expand energy infrastructure projects that will grow our economy. With this bipartisan legislation – which simplifies the approval process for projects that cross the U.S. border – we will improve an inconsistent system while supporting new, good-paying jobs. I commend my colleague, Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton, for his dedication to cutting red tape and achieving North American energy independence. This legislation is a step in the right direction, and it brings new opportunities for people all across this country.”
