“Announcement is Proof Positive the President’s Health Care Law is Unworkable”

WASHINGTON – House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released the following statement after the Obama Administration announced today that it would delay implementation of a crucial component of the President’s health care law:

“The White House’s announcement today that it will delay implementation of the employer mandate is proof positive the President’s health care law is unworkable and will fail to achieve its promise of universal insurance coverage. In fact, the Congressional Budget Office says even after the law is fully implemented 30 million people will remain uninsured. The Administration is belatedly discovering what Republicans have maintained all along: the law’s maze of mandates, taxes, forms and fees are raising health care costs and destroying jobs. A one-year delay will not cure the problem; a full repeal of ObamaCare is needed. We urge the Administration to work with House Republicans during this one-year reprieve to fully repeal ObamaCare and work together to replace it with new reforms that will keep health care affordable, cure diseases, and ensure access to care for all Americans.”
