A Twenty-First Century Law for a Twenty-First Century Workforce

WASHINGTON – House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) issued the following statement today following House passage of the Working Families Flexibility Act of 2013:

“As a working mom with two kids, I understand firsthand how difficult it can be to balance the demands of a job with the obligations of a family. The Working Families Flexibility Act of 2013 will give millions of working families across this country more freedom and flexibility as they strike that important balance. This legislation makes life easier because it gives you back more of your time – more time for working parents to care for their aging parents, for college students juggling work and school, and for moms and dads who want to make the time to attend their kids’ school plays and soccer games.

“As we find ourselves in an ever-changing labor market, this legislation is a twenty-first century law that serves a twenty-first century workforce. Today’s passage of the Working Families Flexibility Act is another example of the pro-family, common-sense solutions that House Republicans are committed to offering as we work to grow our economy and create more jobs.”
