LETTER: House Republican Leaders Call On Speaker Pelosi To Allow For A Vote On H.R. 19 As A Substitute For H.R. 3

Washington, D.C. – This morning, House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23), House Republican Whip Steve Scalise (LA-01), and House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (WY-AL) sent a letter to Speaker Pelosi calling on her to allow for a vote on H.R. 19, The More Cures, Lower Costs Act, as a substitute for her partisan prescription drug proposal that has no chance of becoming law.

In contrast to H.R. 3, which has been a partisan exercise designed to appease a particular wing of Speaker Pelosi’s caucus, The More Cures, Lower Costs Act is a comprehensive, bipartisan alternative that could actually lower the cost of prescription drugs for Americans while also not preventing patients from accessing lifesaving cures. A section-by-section summary of H.R. 19, The More Cures, Lower Costs Act, can be found here.
