Fighting an Egregious Crime: Human Sex Trafficking

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a press conference today, House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) offered her support of a series of bipartisan anti-human trafficking bills, which would increase protection for the victims of human trafficking, hold buyers and sellers engaged in sex trafficking accountable for their crimes, and streamline law enforcement resources.

“We must put an end to one of this country’s most egregious epidemics: human sex trafficking. Traffickers who target our daughters and our sisters must be stopped – and victims of this crime must be protected. Our bipartisan legislation does just that: it protects the innocent victims of sex trafficking while holding those who buy and sell children accountable for their actions. As the mom of three, I will do everything I can to prevent future children from knowing the horrors of this crime.”
