The extreme, far-left agenda embraced by Democrats is most pronounced when it comes to the issue of life.
This morning, George Stephanopolous asked Beto O’Rourke if there was “any room in the Democratic Party now for those who oppose abortion.” He responded by stating it would be “very hard” for him to believe they could produce a pro-life nominee.
But their intolerance for those who fail the abortion litmus test isn’t confined to the field of 2020 presidential candidates:
- As noted by The Washington Post, the issue has also put House Democrats on the defensive.
- Speaker Nancy Pelosi is grappling with an effort to amend a spending bill that funds the Department of Health and Human Services next week, which includes the Hyde Amendment.
- DCCC Chair Rep. Cheri Bustos was recently forced to drop out of a fundraiser for pro-life Democrat Rep. Dan Lipinski after facing an uproar from party activists.
Bottom line: Democrats have made it clear that anyone who doesn’t share their extreme views on abortion – including laws that allow infanticide – aren’t welcome in their party. This is yet another issue that Democrats have lurched to the left on, leaving them out of step with the vast majority of Americans.
