The right of the American people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. That protection was enshrined in our Constitution and it must be upheld.
We know that the government cannot take this right away from law-abiding citizens, and we also know that the American people have a right to keep and bear arms to protect themselves and protect their families.
While Democrats attempt to run roughshod over the Constitution and implement their personal beliefs on Americans across the country, House Republicans stand ready to fight back against them and unapologetically defend the Second Amendment.
Press Release: Hudson Introduces Bipartisan National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Bill
On the opening day of the 117th Congress, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) introduced H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. The bipartisan legislation has a record 154 original cosponsors.
Authored by Rep. Jeff Duncan, this bill would remove suppressors from the scope of the National Firearms Act (NFA), replacing the outdated federal transfer process with an instantaneous National Instant Criminal Background Check (NICS). The bill also includes a provision to refund the $200 transfer tax to applicants who purchase a suppressor after October 22, 2015, which was the original date of introduction.
