Background

On April 10, 2010, a plane carrying Polish President Lech Kaczynski and dozens of other military, political and church leaders crashed in Russia, killing all onboard. The flight was en route to a 70th anniversary commemoration of the Katyn Forest massacre, when Soviets killed thousands of Polish soldiers during World War II.
